ABOUT ME
My name is Faye Strain, and I am currently pursuing a BFA in Interior Design at Suffolk University, graduating in May 2026. I began my education at Suffolk studying marketing, but during my junior year I made the decision to shift my focus and pursue interior design in order to follow my passion for design and the built environment. This change allowed me to explore a field that connects creativity, spatial thinking, and the ways people experience the environments around them.
Through my years at Suffolk, I have spent time learning and growing as an interior design student while developing an approach that centers around the human experience and the wellbeing of the user. I am interested in creating spaces that feel thoughtful, engaging, and intuitive, where design goes beyond function and considers how people interact with and move through a space.
My work also considers the architecture and history of a building, designing in a way that supports the life of the structure while enhancing the experience within it. By balancing materiality, atmosphere, and program, I aim to create environments that support both the people who use them and the buildings they inhabit.
After graduating, I will be joining Lisa Tharp Design as an Interior Design Assistant, a firm whose work and design approach I greatly admire. I look forward to continuing to learn, grow, and contribute to meaningful design work.
